The Executive Leadership Team

  • Perry Lerner is the co-founder of Crown Global and is focused on the company’s strategic planning, product development and institutional relationships.

    Prior to founding Crown Global, Mr. Lerner was a managing director of CPW Capital, LLC and Crown Capital Group, LLC, private equity investment firms. Mr. Lerner was a tax partner at O’Melveny & Myers LP in New York, London and Los Angeles. He has many years of experience advising high net worth families and businesses on international tax planning matters. Mr. Lerner also worked as attorney advisor in the Office of International Tax Counsel of the U.S. Treasury Department.

    Mr. Lerner is a member of the Board of Visitors and Governors of St. Johns College (Annapolis and Santa Fe); Board of Trustees Claremont McKenna College, and Board of Trustees at The Wistar Institute of Anatomy and Biology. Mr. Lerner received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Claremont McKenna College and his JD from Harvard Law School.

    Mr. Lerner is a member of the New York State Bar, the American Bar Association and STEP.

  • Chris Calise is responsible for setting the strategic vision for Crown Global as well as overseeing its day- to-day management, including finance, operations and sales. He also works closely with both internal and external sales and marketing in the development of new product initiatives, as well as evaluating new markets.

    Prior to joining Crown Global, Mr. Calise was a principal at LSC Investors, LLC, which advised The Second City, Inc. and Narciso Rodriguez and restructured Phillips de Pury & Luxembourg, the world's third largest auction house. Prior to LSC, he was an associate with Crown Capital Group, Inc.; a private equity investment firm focused on assisting middle-market companies build value over the long term and was one of the founding members of Fresh Direct, LLC. Mr. Calise was also a consultant with the Industrial Products Group at PriceWaterhouse in its Chicago office.

    Mr. Calise is the founder of the Associates, an organization within the New York Foundling Hospital that mentors and raises money for orphans and children at risk. He is also a member of the board of the Children's Brain Tumor Foundation. Mr. Calise received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Chicago, as well as certifications in insurance and finance.

  • Riccardo Gambineri is responsible for the development and marketing of its Private Placement Life Insurance solutions issued by Crown Global and is based in Zurich Switzerland. This includes working with clients and their professional advisors to developing or optimizing asset protection, investment, estate planning, pre-immigration planning and wealth transfer structures by adding tax-compliant private placement life insurance solutions.

    Mr. Gambineri joined Crown Global from Zurich Insurance Group Ltd., headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, where he was the Head of Private Banking Solutions in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Northern and Eastern European countries. He was responsible for developing and distributing tailored private banking insurance solutions.

    Mr. Gambineri has also held senior management positions at SWIFT, Clearstream Banking, Deutsche Börse AG, Capco and Commerzbank AG in Frankfurt, where he was Senior Vice President, investment banking.

    He enjoyed further and higher education at University of Applied Sciences in Stuttgart Germany, Executive School of Management, University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School in Belgium and was awarded from the University of Liverpool in England the Degree of Master of Laws with Distinction.

  • Laura Gambineri’s main areas of expertise include assisting HNWI, their professional advisors and partners in the structuring of and around estate planning by enhancing the solutions with Private Placement Life Insurance with a particular focus on the US and UK. She supports business partners globally in compliantly structuring wealth enhancing product designs for their clients in cross-border situations. In addition, she provides strategic advice, product design and structuring services for the Crown Global Life Insurance Group.

    Mrs. Gambineri joined Crown Global after her Bachelor studies in International Business Management. She further completed her Master of Laws with Distinction in International Banking and Finance Law from the University of Liverpool. Laura is a TEP (Trust and Estate Practitioner) at STEP, has earned a certificate in Advising the Family Business (with Distinction), as well as an advanced certificate in Family Business Governance (with Distinction), and has received the STEP Excellence Award in the category International Essay Route for the highest-scoring students worldwide (essay of 2020).

  • Mr. Rios leads the Crown Global legal team and oversees all of the company’s legal affairs.

    He is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard University and a graduate of Columbia Law School.

    Prior to joining Crown Global, Mr. Rios was a Special Counsel in Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, LLP's Estates, Trust & Tax Planning Department and a member of the Private Wealth Group, where he advised wealthy domestic and international clients with respect to complex estate planning, tax matters, business succession planning, asset protection planning and advanced insurance planning. Mr. Rios began practicing law at Milbank LLP. As a member of the Trust & Estates department at Milbank, Mr. Rios advised some of the wealthiest individuals in the United States on estate planning, tax matters and insurance planning. He also advised several institutional clients and was extensively involved in the development of financial products.

    In addition to practicing law, Mr. Rios founded, and was President and General Counsel of, a life insurance brokerage firm. He was also a regular contributor to The Chase Review, is co-author of The Circular 230 Deskbook, is co-author of The Advisors Guide to Circular 230, and is a Practising Law Institute faculty member. Mr. Rios was an Adjunct Professor at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University where he taught courses on U.S. federal income tax.

  • Ms. Godwin is responsible for Crown Global’s Grand Cayman office. Her primary responsibilities include overall management of the day-to-day administrative and financial operations of the insurance companies and the overall group.

    Prior to joining Crown Ms. Godwin held leading roles at Aon Insurance Managers (Cayman) Ltd. for eleven years. She was responsible for managing a portfolio of captive insurance, including life insurance companies. Ms. Godwin also worked at KPMG in the Cayman Islands and in Canada.

    Ms. Godwin has a Bachelor of Administration degree from the University of Regina and a Chartered Accountant Designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Saskatchewan.

  • Michele D’Alto is the Vice President of Domestic Operations at Crown Global. Since joining Crown Global in 2012, she has become the lead compliance specialist in the U.S., handling the client due diligence process during onboarding to ensure compliance with KYC and AML requirements, acting as the direct liaison with the reinsurers during the underwriting process, and handling policy issuances. Mrs. D’Alto is also responsible for onboarding new funds and investment managers to Crown Global’s investment platforms.

    Prior to Crown Global, she worked for 2 family real estate offices for over 8 years and was directly involved in residential and commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, development and property management.

    Mrs. D’Alto is a certified anti-money laundering specialist (“CAMS”), holds Series 6 and 63 licenses and variable life and annuity insurance licenses.

  • Matt Monson leads the Company’s actuarial functions and collaborates with the management team on product development as well as other strategic initiatives.

    Matt Monson is a life and investment actuary with over 30 years of experience. He has held positions of increasing responsibility in product development, financial reporting, and capital planning in the U.S. and international insurance industry. He has held the position of vice president and actuary at Protective Life Insurance Company, Transamerica Life Insurance Company, and Lincoln Benefit Life Company. He started his career at Chubb Life Insurance Company and served as an actuary with Allstate Financial.

    Matt has held leadership positions with the American Academy of Actuaries, the Actuarial Standards Board, the Society of Actuaries, and the American Council of Life Insurers. He enjoys connecting diverse professionals across multiple disciplines and bridging the gap between actuarial models and real-world results.

    Matt is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI), has taught at the University of Iowa, and is a graduate of the University of Minnesota. He currently serves on the Academy’s Life Practice Council and is a member of the Life Committee of the Actuarial Standards Board.

  • Suzanne Reynolds is based in Crown Global’s Grand Cayman office and provides complex insurance based solutions for high net worth clients worldwide. Her primary responsibilities include assisting with the day-to-day operations of the insurance companies and the preparation of the financial statements for the group.

    Prior to joining Crown Global, Ms. Reynolds worked at Aon Insurance Managers (Cayman) Ltd. for five years. She was responsible for managing a portfolio of captive insurance clients, including life insurance companies, and worked with high net worth individuals in estate planning, investments and asset protection. She was also involved with all reporting and compliance requirements. Prior to working with Aon, she worked as an internal auditor for Hartlepool government in England.

    Ms. Reynolds acquired her designation as a qualified accountant with ACCA (Association of Chartered, Certified Accountants) in 2006, and was awarded Fellowship in 2011.

  • Colleen Artuch is based in Crown Global’s Grand Cayman office and provides compliance support for new and existing clients. Her primary responsibilities include the overall management of the day-to-day compliance and client due diligence requirements, regulatory reporting and other administrative operations of the insurance companies.

    Prior to joining Crown Global, Ms. Artuch spent fourteen years at Aon Insurance Managers (Cayman) Ltd., where she was responsible for the management of a portfolio of captive insurance clients, and also worked within business development. Ms. Artuch spent six years working in the Insurance Division of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority beginning in 2001, before moving to the private sector and captive insurance management in 2007.

    Ms. Artuch is the holder of Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI), an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Insurance (ACII) and is also a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).
